Thanks to everyone who submitted stories. I received an astounding number of contest entries and I really enjoyed seeing the different approaches everyone took. (Since I write this sort of stuff for a living, I'm always fascinated to see how other people approach the material.) Most submissions were unique. Given that everyone was working off the same artwork, though, it's not surprising that a few people came up with nearly identical jokes. Pam Moeck's story was, however, definitely unlike any of the other submissions. I gave it extra points for the sheer absurdity of it. Plus, it was just plain funny. Many of you came up with fun, wonderful stuff. And I'm going to be featuring some of those stories on my website in the near future. The first of this extra material should appear later this week. I'll post a notice here as soon as I have some of that material up on my website: www.lastkisscomics.com John Lustig, Sign up for free weekly Last Kiss comics in color at www.lastkisscomics.com |

Panel one: Girl: Ohhh Snookems! Isn't it wonderful!!! Pam is the winner of the Last Kiss contest from John Lustig! Boy: Yes dear...it's wonderful! So funny, I love it! Stock in Pam will be worth millions now! Panel two: Girl: But what of Pam? Can she be expected to live a normal life? Will she be crushed by the hazards of fame, wealth, and good showmanship? Boy: Dear God! You're right! Maybe she needs an Agent!!!! Do you think she'll still take our calls? Maybe I should send her a Muffin Basket. Congrats to Pam Moeck! Hey John! How bout more challenges? No prizes needed. This was a fun activity! Chris Murphy Burl IA

Another contest? Hmm. I did talk to Brent the other day about running another contest (in conjunction with CBG) next summer. And he seemed agreeable to it. But right away? I don't know if CBG would want to do another one so soon. Of course, I could always run a new contest on my own from my site. (Although I really do like working with another publication/site for cross-promotion purposes.) But I wonder... Are a lot of people interested in a new contest in the near future? Let me know if you do. John Lustig, Sign up for free weekly Last Kiss comics in color at www.lastkisscomics.com |

Since CBG is only going to be able to print a few of the best submissions, I’ve lettered several others that I like and posted them at http://www.lastkisscomics.com/reading/rcontrib.htm . More will follow as I have time. John Lustig, Sign up for free weekly Last Kiss comics in color at www.lastkisscomics.com |

Woo-hoo! Ich bin ein runner-up! And congrats to PAM. I always enjoyed his work on Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt! Finally, this is my 200th post! Can I get another woo-hoo? True. Nevertheless, that's no excuse for Moose to be so #$%^& temperamental. |

Is Jack Abramowitz correct that the Last Kiss winner is THAT Pam? If so, then this still unpublished in any print media writer doesn't feel too bad about losing now. OK, just to clear up the confusion, the PAM that Jack was referring to was Peter A. Morisi, who was a longtime artist for Charlton and developed Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt. He was a police officer who signed his work with his initials. Unfortunately, he would be unable to win our contest, since he died Dec. 10, 2003. ____________________________________________________

I was being silly because cmoshier said "Congrats to PAM" in all caps, just like PAM's signature. I didn't mean to creat any real confusion. My bad. Sorry. True. Nevertheless, that's no excuse for Moose to be so #$%^& temperamental. |

I wanted to let everyone know that during the contest Pam Moeck actually submitted a sequel to her entry. I liked Part 1 best and that ended up being the winner. But Part 2 is fun as well and I've lettered and posted it on my site for everyone to see here. John Lustig, Sign up for free weekly Last Kiss comics in color at www.lastkisscomics.com |

Hello Last Kiss fans! John is at a writers conference in Spain and talking Duck n' Mouse with his feathered peers about Disney Comics (Tuff Job he has...flying to Europe to talk about comics...Lucky Duck!) Before he left, he pointed out that more runners-up for the Last Kiss in CBG were being posted on his site. http://www.lastkisscomics.com/reading/rcontrib.htm Hanna Juel, Kevin Boze, David James, Harry Borgman, Henry Mietkiewicz, and Mike Pascale join Jack Abramowitz, Richard Gretsch, Gordon Pyke, Laura Drake, Harry Borgman, and Andrew Simpson with fresh and witty dialog for our two young and hip co-stars...(Sue Stormish & Clark Kentish). And once again, don't forget the big winner of the contest, Pam Moeck! I hope John has fun in Europe...watch out for those Beagle Boys! Bring us back a Junior Woodchuck Merit Badge! Boy, talk about ironic. While I was away on a trip, my webmaster posted several more contest entries on my site, but one accidentally got left off. The missing contest strip (by Christopher Murphy) is now up at: http://www.lastkisscomics.com/reading/rcontrib.htm My thanks to Christopher for his patience--and for posting info about the strips while I was away.
